01
What’s a typical engagement size?
Most projects sit between £40,000 and £200,000. Smaller pieces of work (audits, fractional CTO retainers, two-week spikes) start at around £6,000. We’re not the right shop for sub-£10k one-off builds — those are usually better served by a freelancer.
02
What are your payment terms?
For fixed-scope work, 30% on signature, 40% at the agreed midpoint, 30% on delivery. For ongoing retainers, monthly in advance. We invoice in pounds sterling, Net 14, and we’re VAT-registered. Larger enterprise clients on Net 30 by arrangement.
03
How quickly can you start?
For most engagements, two to four weeks from signed contract. Genuine emergencies (a production system on fire, a deadline you can’t move) we’ll triage faster, often within the same week. Tell us on the call and we’ll be honest about capacity.
04
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, happily. We’ve got a mutual NDA we can send over before the scoping call if you’d prefer, or we can sign yours. We’re a UK Ltd company and we treat client information as confidential by default, NDA or no NDA.
05
Do you work on weekends?
As a rule, no. We work standard UK hours, Monday to Friday. We don’t subscribe to the “ship at 2am on a Sunday” model — it makes for tired engineers and brittle code. For on-call support of systems we’ve built, we have separate retainer arrangements with proper rotations.
06
Where are you based?
London. Remote-first, but happy to come into your office for kick-offs, demos, or the occasional pub. Most of our clients are in the UK and Europe.
